Bio

Carter Peabody's artistic journey commenced learning art and photography from his mother, a skilled portrait photographer who studied with renowned photographer Ansel Adams. At Skidmore College he studied art and art history and then film at UCLA, merging technical proficiency with a deep understanding of visual storytelling.

With a career spanning over 20 years in New York City, Carter worked as an editor for commercials before establishing his production company, Peabody & Co, directing videos for esteemed fashion and luxury brands such as Jimmy Choo, Armani, Cartier, and Vogue. An award-winning filmmaker, Carter recently directed a video for Casey Spooner from Fischerspooner, showcasing his continued impact on the music and art scene.

Upon moving to Mexico City, Carter reignited his childhood passion for photography. His first solo exhibition, "Shame and Shadow”, a series shot in Cuba, explores themes of his life as a gay man. In his art, Carter fearlessly explores the intersection of personal truth and visual storytelling. Notably, his photographs of Casey Spooner were recently published in Numero Berlin, adding another dimension to his impactful portfolio.
